Job Summary

The Residential Instructor is a critical role in ensuring the daily aspects of consumer supervision and program operations are executed with precision and care. This position is responsible for implementing all Agency policies and procedures pertaining to the safety and welfare of consumers and Agency property. The ideal candidate will provide a fun, safe, and healthy environment for individuals, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Consumer Supervision: Ensure accurate and timely tracking of consumer progress, implementing all necessary interventions and support strategies.
  2. Program Operations: Oversee daily program activities, including medication administration, hygiene, and meal preparation, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all consumers.
  3. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of consumer activities, incidents, and progress, adhering to all relevant Agency policies and procedures.
  4. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless program operations, providing support and guidance as needed.
  5. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as behavior support, medication administration, and crisis intervention.
Requirements
  1. Education: Minimum possession of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  2. Experience: Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis, with the ability to substitute education for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  3. Certifications: Valid driver's license, ability to obtain and maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS State Medication Administration.
  4. Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, transfer, and physically intervene with individuals as required.
Accountability

The Residential Instructor is directly accountable to the Residential Manager or designated substitute. This role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of care and support for consumers.
