Job Title: Systems Engineer

Shorter University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the critical role of Systems Engineer. As a key member of our OIT Team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining all university server and storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement server and storage infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance
  • Perform day-to-day administration and maintenance of IT systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Develop and maintain air-gapped/immutable cloud storage environments
  • Administer and maintain next-gen firewalls, including SonicWall NS series
  • Deploy and maintain digital certificates across system-wide infrastructures
Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibility for the administration and maintenance of IT infrastructure in a Microsoft environment
  • Proven experience/knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft Hyper-V, and networking
  • Proven experience/knowledge in Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Proven experience scripting using Powershell and TSQL knowledge preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft certifications desirable
  • Experience with SonicWall NS series and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MCEM/SCCM)
