Join Our Team as a Critical Care Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is seeking highly skilled Critical Care Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to join our team in Atlanta. As a critical care professional, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, working alongside respected physicians who value teamwork and are leaders in their fields.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients, utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards under the supervision of the patient's physician.
  • Formulate and implement treatment plans for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or attending backup physician(s).
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on patient clinical status.
  • Insert and manage arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, and intra-aortic balloon pump catheters.
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and administer life-supporting drugs according to established protocols, assist with ECPR and ECMO cannulations.
  • Assess patients for changes in status and institute appropriate interventions, including initiation of necessary emergency interventions to stabilize the patient.
  • Incorporate clinical research findings in the development and implementation of standards of care, support IRB-approved clinical research/trials through various activities.
  • Serve as a clinical expert and education consultant to nursing, members of the healthcare team, and the larger community.

Qualifications
  • Masters, Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification.
  • Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification.
  • ICU/Critical Care experience preferred.
