Job Title: Cardiac Critical Care Specialist

Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Critical Care Specialist to join our team. As a critical care physician assistant or nurse practitioner, you will provide direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients within institutional guidelines and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and implement a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or attending back-up physician(s)
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests
  • Perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based upon patients clinical status
  • Insert and manage arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, and intra-aortic balloon pump catheters
  • Assess patients for changes in status and institute appropriate interventions, including initiation of necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient

Qualifications:
  • Masters, Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification
  • Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification
