Cardiac Monitor Technician

The Cardiac Monitor Technician is a vital member of the DCH Health System team, responsible for ensuring the safe and effective monitoring of cardiac patients. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Observe and record cardiac rhythms, identifying any abnormalities or changes in patient status.
- Notify nursing staff of any changes in patient condition, ensuring prompt and effective care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient monitoring, including rhythm strips and other relevant data.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care, communicating effectively and responding to queries and concerns.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, contributing to the development and implementation of quality initiatives.
- High school graduate or equivalent required; 1 year of Patient Care Assistant/Unit Secretary (PCA/US) or LPN experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
- Physical stamina to work prolonged shifts, with the ability to stand, walk, and move freely in a clinical setting.
This role requires working in a fast-paced clinical environment, with exposure to human body fluids, disease, infection, lab chemicals, and hazardous materials. The ability to wear common protective and safety equipment, such as gloves, safety glasses, and masks, is essential.
Physical DemandsThis role requires light work, with the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The ability to tolerate prolonged periods of standing and walking, with the capacity to reach reasonable distances in any direction, is also required.
