Medical Care Specialist

The Hampden County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Medical Care Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Care Specialist, you will work with various healthcare professionals and security personnel in a correctional environment to provide high-quality medical care to our justice-involved population.
Responsibilities:- Provide medical care and support to inmates, including withdrawal management, vital sign checks, and emergency responses.
- Work with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with security personnel to ensure a safe and secure environment for medical care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices in correctional health care.
- Massachusetts Basic EMT certificate or higher.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years field experience as an EMT.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to pass drug screening and medical clearance.
- Ability to pass criminal background check.
