Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician, Emergency Medicine to join our team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading our emergency medicine team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and administrative services to ensure timely care of patients.
  • Abide by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct.
  • Review patient records and medical history to determine appropriate diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Determine and order screening and diagnostic tests and studies, and interpret results.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical devices within scope of practice and applicable rules and regulations.
  • Initiate referrals to other providers as necessary, and admit/discharge patients as required.
  • Provide consultation, education, and counseling regarding acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner, and ensure patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Supervise APPs as directed, and participate in continuing medical education and quality initiatives.
Requirements
  • Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)
  • Postgraduate training in residency program
  • Current Vermont Medical License
  • Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (within 5 years)
  • Active hospital staff membership
