Position Overview:
The Manufacturing IT Support team collaborates with various IT departments, external partners, and managed service providers to deliver an exceptional IT experience to our clients.

This role is essential in ensuring that the Manufacturing divisions at Cree receive consistent production support, operating 24/7 throughout the year, including on-call responsibilities as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute operational tasks to maintain system functionality, addressing issues promptly and driving them to resolution while balancing immediate needs with long-term objectives.
- Provide IT support for hardware, software, operating systems, telecommunications, and network-related challenges.
- This position requires working 12-hour night shifts.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve incidents at the first point of contact whenever feasible.
- Manage the backlog of support requests by prioritizing them effectively and ensuring detailed documentation of troubleshooting efforts.
- Keep customers informed with periodic updates until issues are fully resolved.
- Collaborate closely within the IT department to coordinate service requirements, dependencies, and impacts, ensuring efficient task completion and appropriate escalation of issues.
- Relocate hardware as needed, adhering to established desk setup protocols and activating network ports.
- Troubleshoot PCs on the manufacturing floor to minimize downtime of critical production systems.

Qualifications:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience in the IT sector or equivalent coursework/internships.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various end-user hardware issues.
- Familiarity with Windows 7, 10, and Microsoft Office Suites.
- Experience addressing various hardware and software issues, including system crashes and performance problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users in an understandable manner.

This position requires compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management as needed.
