Job Summary

Luna Labs USA LLC is seeking a highly skilled Facilities and Operations Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and production of experimental test fixtures for ongoing research and development projects. Additionally, you will manage laboratory construction and maintenance, IT, building security, and EHS functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and produce experimental test fixtures for research and development projects
  • Oversee laboratory construction and maintenance, IT, building security, and EHS functions
  • Manage and coordinate deliveries and shipping
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to establish timelines and ensure technical milestones are met
  • Provide hands-on laboratory support to develop proof-of-concept models and/or prototypes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Materials Science
  • 5+ years of experience leading prototype development projects
  • 5+ years of experience managing facilities, including construction projects, IT, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Experience mentoring colleagues in the above disciplines
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Forklift certification is a plus
  • U.S. Citizenship is a requirement due to government contracting regulations
Supervisory Role and Duties
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and annual performance reviews of direct reports
  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members
  • Contribute to decisions on raises, promotions, bonuses, hiring, and firing of direct reports
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment
  • Coordinate facilities, EHS, and IT efforts within budget corporation-wide to provide a safe and productive work environment
Work Environment
  • Duties are primarily completed onsite from a Luna Labs' office location
  • Occasional travel between company locations, client sites, conferences, and related events is required
  • The role involves working in a laboratory environment and interacting with technical staff
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs may be required
