Job Title: Retail Store Environment Team Member

At Michaels Stores, we're looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Retail Store Environment Team Member to join our team. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, including store cleanliness and recovery standards. You will deliver friendly customer service, help customers shop our store, and find what they're looking for.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain store cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises.
  • Deliver friendly customer service and help customers shop our store.
  • Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures.
  • Dust and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
  • Moves equipment and products for proper cleaning and places products back in correct placement.
  • Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
  • May require mixing water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Deep clean key areas of the store, including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways, and other high traffic areas, to maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Must keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly and notify supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment.
  • Seeks out areas requiring cleaning and takes initiative to complete the task.
  • Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state, and county guidelines.
  • Maintain positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers, even in difficult situations, in keeping with the organization's vision and values.
  • Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
