Project Engineer Job Description

U-Haul International Inc. is seeking an experienced commercial Project Engineer to lead new multi-story self-storage projects and building reuse. The ideal candidate must be capable of preparing construction budgets, reviewing and assisting cost estimating and project scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with owner's representatives, contractors, architects/engineers, and city officials to ensure project success.
  • Track and schedule projects, conduct on-site inspections, and ensure project close-out.
  • Utilize Microsoft programs, Teams, Project, Excel, and other tools to manage projects effectively.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
  • Report job status, daily progress, estimates, and deliverables to stakeholders.
  • Assist owners' representatives in drafting construction contracts, bidding on projects, analyzing, and mitigating risks.
  • Communicate with responsible parties to ensure quality construction meets or exceeds company standards and proper industry techniques and processes are utilized.
  • Review projects daily to ensure quality construction standards are met.
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in construction management.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Excellent resource, planning, and time management skills.
