Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team in Chapel Hill, NC. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, including abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, breast, abdominal duplex, musculoskeletal, CEUS, and pediatric sonography.
  • Assist radiologists with invasive procedures such as biopsies, injections, and aspirations.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper care and quality patient care.
  • Communicate exam findings to radiologists and summarize results on report worksheets.
  • Collaborate with peers to schedule and coordinate daily workload.
  • Maintain CPR certification, CME credits, and active ARDMS certification.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
  • RDMS registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligibility with registration within one year from date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
