About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic and growing team at InsideHigherEd. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in supporting research at the McCourt School of Public Policy and the School of Health related to Medicaid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with research team members in designing and implementing studies, analyzing data, and publishing results from research projects.
  • Develop and manage database structuring and data management strategies as required for efficiency and compliance.
  • Assume primary responsibility for writing statistical design, methods, and analysis for research assignments.
  • Develop machine learning models to compliment the statistical design.
  • Assume primary responsibility for documentation and archiving of datasets.
  • Contribute to writing statistical methods and results sections of reports and publications.
  • Support publication of research products as well as related projects online and/or other channels.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biostatistics, statistics, data science, econometrics, or similar quantitative methods field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis using statistical packages, STATA, Excel.
  • Experience with Python, R, SQL, and other programming languages.
  • Experience designing and implementing relational databases.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Tableau.
  • Experience in research protocols, quality assurance, and data privacy practices.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate with non-technical staff and all members of the project team.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Work Mode Designation

This position has been designated as Hybrid 3 day. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.

Pay Range

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position is $54,000 - $100,493.33.
