About the Role
The McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic and growing team. As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting research at the McCourt School of Public Policy and the School of Health related to Medicaid.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with research team members to design and implement studies, analyze data, and publish results from research projects.
- Develop and manage database structuring and data management strategies to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Assume primary responsibility for writing statistical design, methods, and analysis for research assignments.
- Develop machine learning models to complement statistical design.
- Assume primary responsibility for documentation and archiving of datasets.
- Contribute to writing statistical methods and results sections of reports and publications.
- Support the publication of research products and related projects online and through other channels.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biostatistics, statistics, data science, econometrics, or a similar quantitative methods field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis using statistical packages, STATA, Excel, and other programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
- Experience designing and implementing relational databases, such as Postgres or a similar database management system.
- Experience with or willingness to learn Tableau.
- Experience in research protocols, quality assurance, and data privacy practices.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate with non-technical staff and all members of the project team.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Work Mode Designation
This position has been designated as a Hybrid 3-day work arrangement. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed to meet the evolving needs of the University.
