Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team at Core & Main. As a key member of our Project Management Center of Excellence, you will be responsible for coordinating project teams from inception to completion and executing corporate planning and project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as senior representative for the Project Management Center of Excellence, providing guidance and support to project teams.
  • Develop and implement new systems, techniques, and procedures for automated planning, reporting, issue resolution, risk management, and budget tracking.
  • Provide regular status updates to project stakeholders and interface with upper management.
  • Review plans and schedules of participating functions for compliance with the master schedule and resolve scheduling and inter-functional conflicts.
  • Participate in or lead daily, weekly, or monthly meetings to track and report project status, identifying deviations or adverse trends.
  • Review project business cases to ensure accurate costs and internal labor are identified and ensure approval of business cases and present to governing bodies.
  • Support internal department training through occasional instructional opportunities and mentor, support, and develop people and processes within the project management office.
Requirements
  • Identify key barriers and core problems and apply problem-solving skills to deal creatively with complex situations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, making decisions under conditions of uncertainty with incomplete information.
  • Independently perform assignments with instruction limited to results expected, determining and developing approaches to solutions.
  • Oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.
  • Contribute to employees' professional development but do not have hiring or firing authority.
Work Environment

The majority of the time will be spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles. The work environment is located in a comfortable indoor area with minimal unpleasant conditions.

Qualifications
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable.
  • Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline with 5-8 years of experience in a related field or an MS/MA with 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
Compensation

The salary for this position is $75,000 per year.
