Job Title: Caregiver Lead

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and experienced Caregiver Lead to join our team. As a Caregiver Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care and services are provided to our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervisory support to Care Managers, ensuring attendance, call-offs, and shift requests are managed effectively.
  • Support team members in providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care and services, including bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
  • Encourage resident participation in life enrichment programming and ADLs, promoting a sense of community and engagement.
  • Assist with meal service, coaching team members on hospitality standards and ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.
  • Accurately document care and services provided, reviewing and coaching team members on documentation best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Sunrise's Timekeeping and Meal/Rest Period policies, monitoring team member break schedules and clocking in/out procedures.
  • Display flexibility in work schedule, working holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed.
  • Prepare for shifts by obtaining resident group assignments, printing, and distributing daily assignment sheets to team members.
  • Participate in crossover meetings, sharing and receiving pertinent information with other Lead Care Managers.
  • Cross-trained and credentialed to safely administer medications during times of high volume or unexpected absence.
  • Lead by example, clocking in/out, and taking proper meal/rest breaks.
  • Participate in group interview processes, including job preview videos and community tours.
  • Support onboarding of new team members, shadowing, and skills demonstrations.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards and actively supporting safety practices.
  • Report incidents and complete appropriate paperwork immediately.
  • Communicate observed or suspected resident changes of condition to the department care coordinator, assisting in development and updates to ISPs and communicating with residents and families.
  • Prevent and handle conflict by working with the team towards a solution, communicating issues to the department care coordinator when necessary.
  • Contribute to Care Manager annual performance reviews, providing feedback to the department care coordinator.
  • Project a positive, professional, and friendly image through action, words, and dress.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED strongly preferred and may be required per state regulations.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate effectively with Care Managers, Community Managers, residents, and family members.
  • In states where applicable, must maintain applicable certifications.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Medication Management Certificate required, ongoing training and re-education per Sunrise and state requirements.
  • Previous experience working with seniors and a desire to serve and care for seniors.
  • Demonstrates leadership competencies.
  • Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles, and interests.
  • Ability to make choices, decisions, and act in the residents' best interest.
  • Ability to appropriately react to and remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Competent in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and Sunrise applications with the ability to learn new applications.
