Lead Caregiver Job Description

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Caregiver to join our team. As a Lead Caregiver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care and services are provided to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervisory support to Care Managers, ensuring attendance, call-offs, and shift requests are managed effectively.
  • Support team members in providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care and services, including bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
  • Encourage resident participation in life enrichment programming and ADLs, promoting personalized and meaningful experiences.
  • Assist with meal service, coaching team members on hospitality standards and ensuring compliance with Sunrise's Timekeeping and Meal/Rest Period policies.
  • Accurately document care and services provided, reviewing care manager documentation and identifying gaps in documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Sunrise's policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED, with a strong preference for experience working with seniors.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with Care Managers, Community Managers, residents, and family members.
  • Medication Management Certificate required, with ongoing training and re-education per Sunrise and state requirements.
  • Previous experience in a care-related role, with a strong desire to serve and care for seniors.
  • Leadership competencies, including the ability to delegate assignments, make choices, and act in the residents' best interest.
