Job Overview

Sunrise Senior Living is a leading provider of senior living communities, and we're seeking a skilled and compassionate Lead Caregiver to join our team. As a Lead Caregiver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care and services for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide supervisory support to Care Managers, ensuring attendance, managing call-offs, and responding to shift requests.
  • Support team members in providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care and services, including bathing, grooming, and personal care.
  • Encourage resident participation in life enrichment programming and ADLs, promoting a sense of community and engagement.
  • Assist with meal service, coaching team members on hospitality standards and ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Accurately document care and services provided, reviewing and coaching team members on documentation best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Sunrise's Timekeeping and Meal/Rest Period policies, monitoring team member break schedules and clocking in/out procedures.
  • Display flexibility in work schedule, working holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed.
  • Prepare for shifts by obtaining resident group assignments, printing, and distributing daily assignment sheets to team members.
  • Participate in crossover meetings, sharing and receiving pertinent information with other Lead Care Managers.
  • Carry a resident group assignment on overnight shifts and pick up group assignments in the event of an unfilled call-off on day and evening shifts.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED, strongly preferred and may be required per state regulations.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with Care Managers, Community Managers, residents, and family members.
  • In states where applicable, must maintain applicable certifications.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Medication Management Certificate required, with ongoing training and re-education per Sunrise and state requirements.
  • Previous experience working with seniors and a desire to serve and care for seniors.
  • Demonstrates leadership competencies, including delegation, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, organize, and manage time effectively.
  • Competent in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and Sunrise applications, with the ability to learn new applications.
