Job Description

KMBC-TV, a leading ABC affiliate in Kansas City, MO, seeks a seasoned Digital Sales Manager to spearhead our digital sales initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about new media, stays up-to-date with its evolution, and possesses a deep understanding of digital marketing strategy. Key strengths include:

  • Effective communication and relationship-building
  • Ability to train and develop internal and external customers
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individual advertiser account strategies, including revenue goals
  • Regularly meet with local sales teams to ensure professional development and success
  • Partner with Local Sales Managers to prepare and lead quarterly sales planning meetings
  • Evaluate seller performance and provide feedback
  • Act as primary negotiator for the station on all digital business
  • Respond to RFP requests and meet client deadlines
  • Meet with clients to develop and strengthen business relationships
  • Develop and generate non-traditional revenue and new sales initiatives
  • Manage various expense budgets related to digital initiatives
  • Work with Local and National Sales Managers to achieve stated and strategic goals
  • Provide training to Local and National sellers
  • Ensure comprehensive sales presentations are available in advance
  • Maintain current and accurate revenue forecasts by account
  • Review and approve new insertion orders
  • Prepare and present various reports
  • Follow and meet all HTV Digital Sales Managers standard operating procedures
  • Maintain current knowledge of HTV advertising regulations
  • Communicate regularly with the Director of Sales on all aspects of digital business
Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of current digital marketing strategies and synergies with other media
  • Understanding of pricing and inventory management principles
  • Ability to dissect an advertising RFP and prepare a comprehensive response
  • Ability to prospect, meet with, and close business with new station clients
  • Skills to manage and supervise others
Qualifications:
  • Strong formal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and AdBook by SatTail, DART, Google Analytics
  • Valid driver's license and reliable automobile required
  • Related military experience considered
