The Plant Buyer will be responsible for ensuring that procurement of goods and services is properly authorized, approved, and competitively priced. This role will also manage spare parts ordering and inventory, communicate and implement division sourcing policies and procedures, and work closely with maintenance leadership to develop and maintain an effective critical parts listing.
Key Responsibilities- Work with maintenance to develop and maintain inventory control of all maintenance parts and materials, part criticality, and cost monitoring.
- Create purchase orders for all purchases within the plant following all Global Sourcing Business Rules.
- Be a positive spokesperson and help lead plant-wide changes, acting as a liaison between finance, production, and maintenance teams.
- Provide the Plant Controller with accurate and timely purchasing information, including month-end PO accruals and developing reports to analyze costs, usage, and trends.
- Able to think under pressure and make quick decisions.
- Able to work well in a team or alone.
- Good attention to detail.
- Integrity.
- Strong communication skills, written and oral.
- Sense of urgency.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
