Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Health Physicist I to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our Radiological Emergency Preparedness program, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective management of radiological instruments and training operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement plans for radiological emergency preparedness and response
• Conduct complex administrative planning and project inspections
• Collaborate with the Texas Department of State Health Services, Department of Energy, and Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate training and technical review
• Provide supervision and technical guidance to instrument technicians and develop methods for improved management and technical techniques
• Conduct radiological field inspections, investigations, surveys, and instrument updates
• Provide complex technical assistance to state, county, and local government officials
• Maintain a 24-hour comprehensive response capability for radiological emergencies
• Participate as a member of the State of Texas Radiological Emergency Response Team

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Physics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in radiological health physics or a related field
• Strong knowledge of radiological safety and emergency preparedness principles
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
