Heavy Equipment Technician

As a Mechanical Repair Technician, your main duty will be to conduct repairs on various types of machinery and equipment in a workshop environment. You will ensure that all equipment is functioning efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Repairs: Identify and resolve mechanical issues across a diverse range of machinery and vehicles. This involves performing maintenance tasks, troubleshooting problems, and executing necessary repairs to maintain optimal performance.
- Routine Maintenance: Carry out regular maintenance procedures, including inspections, lubrication, and adjustments, to avert equipment failures and extend the lifespan of machinery. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and communicate any significant issues or repair needs.
- Safety Standards: Follow safety regulations and ensure that all tasks are completed in line with established safety protocols. Recognize potential hazards and implement measures to reduce risks in the workshop.
- Inventory Oversight: Keep track of inventory levels for essential supplies, tools, and equipment. Work with supervisors to maintain an adequate stock of items necessary for repairs.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough records of repairs, modifications, and fabrication tasks. This includes logging parts utilized, labor hours, and any pertinent information related to the work performed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow team members, including other mechanics and supervisors, to ensure efficient workflow and successful completion of assigned projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience as a mechanic or in a related position.
- Expertise in mechanical repair techniques.
- Strong understanding of machinery processes and equipment.
- Familiarity with workshop tools and measuring devices.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical endurance and capability to lift heavy equipment.
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.

Salary Range: $24.00 to $32.00 DOE
