Direct Support Professional IV

This position serves as a home supervisor, responsible for ensuring the care, treatment, training, and support activities are completed in the assigned home. The home supervisor supervises and monitors the activities of other direct support staff, performs administrative and programming duties, and is responsible for quality active treatment and operation of the unit.
Key Responsibilities:- Attend work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy.
- Arrange work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and staff/individual ratios.
- Monitor and document individual participation/progression for effective communication with other staff.
- Ensure efficient delivery of care, training, and support activities on the unit through supervision of activities and work behaviors of assigned employees.
- Attend meetings, serve on committees, and perform other specific tasks when directed by the Unit Director, Administrative Assistant, Director of Home Life, ADoP, or facility Director.
- Ensure that the home is maintained as a safe and sanitary living environment for individuals.
- Plan, assign, and supervise the work of others.
- Provide assistance in transporting individuals going on scheduled activities and in emergency situations, as needed.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to make decisions and use good judgment when dealing with critical incidents.
- Ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency.
- Ability to demonstrate proper body mechanics, good posture, and proper lifting techniques.
- Strength and flexibility to safely perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Safety Utilization of Restraint (SUR) techniques.
- Ability to master basic techniques of individual care and training.
- Ability to be flexible in handling work assignments.
- Knowledge of individual care techniques and of treatment, therapy, and developmental programs.
- Knowledge of Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) standards.
This position is required to drive a state-owned vehicle.
