Role Summary: This position requires a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to design, develop, and validate a comprehensive lifecycle system. The engineer will assess customer and operational requirements to establish and coordinate system performance criteria, ensuring the integration of technical parameters and compatibility across all interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize modeling, simulation, and data analytics techniques, including statistical and probabilistic analyses.
- Act as a technical expert, supporting various design teams throughout the entire product development and support lifecycle.
- Assist in defining program technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, operational availability, and maintenance costs.
Support Areas Include:
- Design for Reliability & Safety: Validation and verification of reliability requirements, allocation of reliability requirements to suppliers, and conducting failure modes and effects analysis.
- Collaboration with system suppliers, business partners, and airline customers to ensure alignment and communication across teams.
- Engagement with internal R&M Engineering teams and program leaders to resolve technical challenges.
Qualifications:
Typically requires advanced technical education in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, along with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. ABET accreditation is preferred in the USA.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with propulsion or aircraft systems.
- Background in reliability engineering.
- Familiarity with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
- Knowledge of Commercial Airplane Certification processes.
