Job Title: Reliability and Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Reliability and Maintainability Engineer to join our Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering organization located in Everett, WA.

The selected candidate will help design, certify, and support commercial airplanes by applying state-of-the-art reliability and maintainability engineering design, modeling, and analysis principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use modeling, simulation, and data analytics methodologies and tools, including statistical and probabilistic analyses.
  • Serve as a technical specialist supporting other functional design groups during all stages of the airplane product development and support lifecycle.
  • Responsible for aiding in determining program technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, airplane operational availability, and maintenance cost.
  • Provide support in the following areas:
    • Design for Reliability & Safety (airplane and system design reliability requirements validation and verification, reliability requirements allocation to suppliers, failure modes, rates, effects, propagation, and detection analysis, architecture and operational provisions, safety and certification analysis, certification support, reliability and durability testing).
    • Interaction with airplane system suppliers, business partners, airline customers, airplane development program leaders, and functional management is typical, as is a high level of communication between the rest of the R&M Engineering internal organization, program teams, and functional design areas.
Requirements:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor's degree) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation.

Preferred qualifications include experience with propulsion or airplane systems, reliability engineering experience, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) experience, Commercial Airplane Certification experience, and skills in aerospace, FAA Certification, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis, Propulsion Systems, Reliability, Safety Analysis, and System Safety.
