Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient medical office setting, utilizing standards of care and practice to guide care delivery.
  • Accurately administer medications, consult with providers, and obtain instruction and supervision as needed.
  • Perform designated therapeutic procedures, accurately observe and record patient concerns, and provide emotional support to patients and families.
  • Assist providers and registered nurses with examinations and procedures, utilize available supplies in a cost-effective manner, and participate in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Obtain medical information from patients, take vital signs, and screen patients for chief complaints and pertinent health data.
Requirements
  • Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Practical Nursing or appropriate state board.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Working Environment

The work environment is a standard clinical setting with a high volume of patients. The position is frequently exposed to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, toxins, and chemicals.
