Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the success of our operating room team at Lexington Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to ensure the safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment with precision.
  • Prepare operating rooms for procedures, including setting up equipment and ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and meet the needs of patients, surgeons, and other medical staff.
  • Participate in patient care activities, such as positioning patients, preparing the operative site, and assisting with anesthesia administration.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including instrument counts and preference cards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices, and participate in ongoing education and training.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting open communication and a culture of excellence.
Requirements
  • National Certification through NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized vocational or hospital-based Operating Room Technician course or its equivalent
  • CPR Certification
