Clinical Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Support Technician to join our team at Palmetto Infusion. As a Clinical Support Technician, you will play a critical role in providing clinical support services to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical support services through scheduling patient appointments and maintaining current documentation in patient medical records.
- Ensure documentation supports initial and ongoing therapies.
- Process patients in CPR+ and make orders ready-to-fill.
- Communicate with pharmacy and nursing when drug refills or updated Plan of Treatment are needed.
- Enter all patient follow-up appointments into CPR+ and reschedule patients as needed.
- Enter new patient orders, discontinue old orders, and send new Plan of Treatment to Insurance Case Manager.
- Request new Plans of Treatment and medical record information as needed.
- Request lab results as needed.
- Order free and ship-in drugs as requested.
- Check Touch authorizations to ensure all authorizations are current.
- Monitor census and follow up with Nursing to discuss patients that may need to be discharged.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
- Participate in the activities of the Performance Improvement Program.
- Attend scheduled patient care conferences, in-services, departmental meetings, etc. as requested.
- Take initiative to present ideas/suggestions to management.
- Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures.
- Represent self in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
- Promote Palmetto Infusion culture by providing quality, comprehensive services to all customers through a team approach.
- Ensure work meets quality standards and demonstrates reliability and follow-through on all assigned tasks.
- Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
- Proficient at partner programs (i.e. MS Outlook/Express, Word, Excel).
- Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner.
- A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
- Must have the ability to function independently and possess great organizational skills.
- Must be able to assume a flexible work schedule.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills in handling interactions with Palmetto Infusion staff, other agencies, groups, patients, and families.
- Competent in the use of company email as means of communication, accessing the company website to view company policies and electronic medical records.
- Competent in the use of company self-service payroll software (time and attendance, benefits, pay statements).
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products and the ability to navigate Internet Explorer.
- Proficient in typing, word processing (Microsoft Outlook/Express, Word, Excel), and familiar with office equipment.
- Proficient in the operation of CPR+.
- This position requires a knowledge of, and sensitivity to, cultural and language differences.
- Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, and hear.
There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision.
Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff.
