Role of the Registered Nurse Supervisor

As a pivotal leader in our healthcare team, the Registered Nurse Supervisor plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care to families in our service areas while promoting a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse Supervisor:

  • Operate within the RN scope of practice.
  • Report directly to the Director of Nursing.
  • Conduct training sessions for Registered and Licensed Vocational Nurses.
  • Facilitate weekly educational and structured staff meetings.
  • Evaluate staff performance and complete annual reviews.
  • Oversee daily infusion operations.
  • Travel to assigned sites for safety and operational inspections.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective patient care.
  • Collaborate effectively with operational management.
  • Manage staff schedules, call-outs, and patient-to-nurse ratios.
  • Address disciplinary conduct issues as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with established nursing practice standards.
  • Supervise and delegate patient care tasks to RN/LVN and other team members.
  • Foster teamwork with physicians and personnel from other departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • At least one year of supervisory experience as an RN.
  • Oncology experience is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current RN license in good standing in the state of service (CA).
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required within three months of hire.
  • OCN certification preferred but not mandatory.
  • Maintain current BLS certification throughout employment.
  • BLS certification is required upon hire.
  • ACLS certification preferred but not required.

Employment Type: Full-time

The salary range for this position typically falls between $53 and $63 USD per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
