Oncology Nurse Practitioner

Integrated Oncology Network, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our collaborative care team, you will provide primary care to oncology patients, working closely with physicians to improve patient outcomes.
Job Purpose:The Nurse Practitioner will establish goals and objectives for the care of oncology patients, ensuring that development and intradepartmental policies, procedures, and standards of care are maintained. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for individual patients, documenting appropriate interventions and prescribing drug therapies per protocol.
Essential Functions:- Establishes goals and objectives for area in congruence with center's goals and objectives.
- Ensures that development and intradepartmental policies, procedures, and standards of care are maintained.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for individual patients.
- Documents appropriate interventions and prescribes drug therapies per protocol.
- Conducts patient assessments and provides physician with information prior to seeing the patient.
- Provides expert nursing care to maximize health, enhance quality of life, and relieve suffering.
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Actively assists and supports patients throughout all aspects of their care and closely monitors patients for changes in health.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Nursing, current RN license, and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). A minimum of one year of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner within the past two years is required. Eligibility for hospital privileges is also necessary.
Prescriptive Authority Requirements:The Nurse Practitioner must have recognition as an advanced practitioner of nursing, completion of a minimum of two semester credit hours of course work approved by the board of pharmacology and clinical management of drug therapy or pharmacotherapeutics within the past five years, and documentation of completion of 400 hours of advanced nursing practice in recognized areas of specialty within the past two years.
Skills:The successful candidate will possess excellent judgment, dependability, and conscientious performance. They will also have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, be caring and empathic, and have high ethical standards. Prior oncology experience is highly desirable.
