Responsibilities:

* Execute the plans and policies authorized by the Board, including participation with the Board in fulfillment of the organization's Strategic Plan.
* Serve as the lead in all development efforts to ensure the financial security of the organization.
* Administration of operational functions including risk management, insurance, and accounting.
* Complete state grant requirements including annual, quarterly, and other recurring documentation.

Key Qualifications:

* Minimum five years of experience in a non-profit leadership or management role. Familiarity with adult education programs, literacy volunteer programs, and/or similar non-profit programs a plus. Cultural sensitivity is necessary.
* Minimum bachelor's degree, preferably in education or non-profit management; master's degree preferred.
* Proven record in fundraising, development, grant writing, and donor cultivation, including use of Salesforce or similar donor management database.
* Experience in fiscal management, budget preparation and financial reporting.
* Excellent communication skills (written, oral, public speaking) and ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders.
* Integrity in dealing with all constituents: staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, donors, vendors, and peer organizations.
