Position Overview:

As the Superintendent of Production, you will oversee, coordinate, and enhance daily operations at one of Linde's manufacturing sites. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of operational principles and practices, as you will lead efforts to ensure safety, compliance, reliability, operational excellence, and profitability.

The facility specializes in the production of gaseous oxygen and argon, with key assets including electrical distribution systems, high-speed rotating machinery, and various pumping and heating systems. This is a hands-on role that requires availability during off-hours and may involve occasional travel to support other facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of a multi-process production facility.
  • Direct the daily activities of production technicians.
  • Collaborate with the onsite team to modify process controls in response to customer demands.
  • Facilitate training and professional growth for production staff.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with centralized control, logistics, and distribution teams.
  • Assist in the development and management of annual budgets.
  • Oversee the portfolio of capital and operational projects.
  • Achieve defined productivity improvement goals.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies for reliable operations.
  • Coordinate major maintenance and project activities to minimize disruption.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers and contractors for adequate support.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and management regarding operational matters.
  • Engage support teams for significant projects or technical challenges.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and effective communication across the organization.
  • Respond promptly to operational issues to minimize impact on customers.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to achieve operational objectives.
  • Lead root cause analysis for major operational disruptions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations within the industrial gases, chemicals, or oil and gas sectors.
  • At least 3 years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in safety practices.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and process plant operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and make informed decisions.
  • Proven adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Valued team player with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive for project execution.
