Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition Site Manager to join our team at the County of Door, WI. As a key member of our Nutrition Program, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective functioning of our meal services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals according to daily menus using ServSafe standards.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen area, adhering to current food safety standards.
  • Complete prep work necessary for side dishes and baked items on the menu.
  • Work on a team to prepare, package, and serve hot meals for Meals on Wheels, frozen meals for the Frozen Meal Program, and all meals for congregate meal sites.
  • Coordinate and deliver hot meals from the Sturgeon Bay site to other meal sites, maintaining approved temperatures.
  • Tabulate monetary donations and make bank deposits when working at meal sites, reporting on logs.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Technical diploma in culinary science preferred.
  • Up to three years' experience cooking for large groups of people strongly preferred.
  • ServSafe certification is preferred.
Working Conditions

This position involves working in a mostly indoor environment with safety precautions required most of the time. Over 50% of the time is spent bending, twisting, reaching, standing, and walking. About 25% of the time is spent lifting and carrying nutrition-related objects weighing more than 10 pounds.

Exposure to extreme heat (ovens, steamers, etc.) is experienced 50% of the time, and exposure to mechanical equipment (slicer, mixer) is frequent.

This position may be required to work during a proclaimed state of emergency, consistent with Sec, Wis. Stats. and County emergency management plans and programs.
