Job Title: Nutritionist - RD

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our team in Olympia, WA. As a key member of our WIC department, you will be responsible for providing nutrition counseling, high-risk counseling, and assisting with the WIC certification process.

Job Summary:

This is a temporary full-time position available for a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) at our WIC department in Olympia, WA. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining complete and up-to-date charts, establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with team members, and providing medical, MSS, and patient nutritional assessment and nutrition counseling.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, including counseling sessions and statistical program records.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other Sea Mar staff.
  • Provide medical, MSS, and patient nutritional assessment and nutrition counseling.
  • Facilitate appointment scheduling and follow-up on failed appointments according to protocol.
  • Coordinate services with other health professionals and cooperate with other departments.
  • Determine WIC eligibility and nutrition risk factors.
  • Issue food vouchers and document check issuance.
Requirements:
  • Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in nutrition from an accredited university.
  • Completed an accredited dietetic internship program or Coordinated Undergraduate Program in Dietetics.
  • 7 hours of HIV/AIDS course.
  • WA State Registration and Certification for Dietitian or RD/CD eligible with attainment of these credentials within time period stated in the Sea Mar Nutrition Program Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Medical Assistant-Registered Certification required for Hemoglobin testing for WIC RD.
  • Pre-hire and annual employee health screening required.
  • Annual influenza vaccine required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a community nutrition setting with an interest in weight management, diabetes education, and pediatric nutrition.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in outpatient or similar nutrition setting.
  • Experience with long-term care programs.
  • Current Adult/Pediatric CPR certification.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred but not required.
