Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Glass Installation Assistant to join our team at The Glass Guru of Port St. Lucie. As a key member of our glazing team, you will assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of glass products, including windows, doors, mirrors, and other glass structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in Glass Installation: Work under the direction of a Lead Glazier to install, remove, and repair glass in windows, doors, storefronts, and other structures.
  • Transport and Handle Glass Materials: Safely load, unload, and store glass materials, ensuring they are properly secured and protected.
  • Prepare Work Areas: Remove old materials, cut openings, and set up equipment and tools to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Measure and Cut Glass: Measure, cut, and shape glass and other glazing materials as directed by the Lead Glazier.
  • Apply Sealants and Adhesives: Apply sealants, adhesives, and weatherproofing materials to secure glass installations.
  • Operate Hand and Power Tools: Safely operate hand and power tools, adhering to company safety protocols.
  • Communicate with Team Members: Collaborate with the Lead Glazier and other team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in glazing is preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions (indoors, outdoors, heights).
  • Math Skills: Basic math skills for measuring and cutting glass.
  • Tool Familiarity: Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Safety Awareness: Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures.
Work Environment

The job involves working outdoors and indoors in various weather conditions. You may be required to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work at heights. Safety gear, such as gloves, goggles, and hard hats, must be worn as required by job sites.
