Director of Food Operations and Hospitality

We are seeking an experienced Director of Dining Services to join our team at Hospitality Staffing Solutions (HSS). As a leading provider of hospitality staffing services, we support over 90 markets in 38 states, serving the hospitality industry, senior living facilities, hospitals, event venues, restaurants, and more.
The successful candidate will oversee dining operations at our clients' senior living facilities in the Valhalla, NY area, ensuring exceptional dining experiences for residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing. A strong balance of culinary expertise, managerial experience, and financial acumen is required to meet high standards in resident satisfaction and maintain budgetary goals.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead a team of managers, including an Executive Chef, Food Service Manager, and Dining Room Manager, to ensure excellence in food quality, presentation, and service.
- Coach and mentor team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that supports the community's mission and values.
Food Quality & Presentation:
- Develop and maintain menu offerings that cater to resident preferences and dietary needs.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to create menus that balance cost-effectiveness with appeal and nutritional value.
Operations & Compliance:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of all dining areas, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Manage inventory and procurement to maintain quality while minimizing waste and costs.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the dining services budget, tracking expenses to achieve financial goals.
- Analyze financial reports and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or service.
Special Events & Programming:
- Coordinate and oversee special dining events, holiday programs, and themed menus, enhancing the resident experience.
- Collaborate with other departments to support community-wide events and initiatives.
Estimated Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per year
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive management experience in dining services, preferably within senior living, healthcare, or high-end hospitality settings.
