Technical Assistant

The Westchester Community College is seeking a part-time Technical Assistant to support the School of Health Sciences and Wellness, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, and Nutrition Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting faculty, staff, and students in the setup, preparation, and operation of equipment in department laboratories.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for maintaining inventory controls, receiving, storing, and issuing food and supplies, filling requisitions, rotation of ingredients, laboratory setup/breakdown, and the organization of department supplies and equipment.
**Responsibilities:**
- Maintain inventory controls, receive, store, and issue food and supplies
- Fulfill requisitions and rotate ingredients as needed
- Assist with laboratory setup and breakdown
- Organize department supplies and equipment
**Requirements:**
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in a hospitality enterprise
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $15.50 per hour, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate up to 28 hours per week over a four-day workweek.
