Position: Surgical Technologist

Key Responsibilities:

As a Surgical Technologist at St. Mary's, your role will encompass preparing for surgical interventions, assisting surgeons during procedures, ensuring the sterilization of instruments, and organizing surgical case carts. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing effective Materials Management
  • Utilizing proper techniques for handling sharps
  • Conducting counts of surgical instruments
  • Managing surgical specimens with care
  • Adhering to safety protocols to protect yourself and others
  • Employing Personal Protective Equipment as necessary
  • Supporting patient care initiatives

Qualifications:

For Certified Candidates:

  • Mandatory certification as a surgical technologist
  • 1-2 years of experience in an operating room setting
  • Current BLS certification and strong communication abilities
  • Basic proficiency in computer usage

For Non-Certified Candidates:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • BLS certification and experience in surgical technology preparation
  • Prior experience as a Nurse Aide is advantageous
