Surgical Technician

Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technician at UHS, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the surgeon and other medical staff during surgical procedures. This includes preparing and sterilizing surgical equipment, assembling case carts, and maintaining a safe and organized environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrates correct Materials Management (instruments, sponges, needles, etc.)
Displays various transfer techniques with sharps, as needed.
Counting of surgical objects as required per policy.
Accountability and care of surgical specimens.

Requirements:
High school graduate or GED required.
Graduate of an approved Surgical Technical Program or on-the-job scrub tech training required.
Six (6) months experience preferred.
BLS certification required.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills required.
