Position Summary:
The Healthcare Support Specialist plays a vital role in patient care by assisting registered nurses with various tasks.

This position involves providing hands-on support, aiding with activities of daily living (ADLs), and executing specific technical duties for a designated group of patients under the guidance of a Team Leader.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressure, weight, height, and fluid intake/output.


2. Encourage patients to engage in respiratory exercises and mobility as outlined in their care plans.

3. Assist patients with mobility, including transferring them in and out of beds and wheelchairs.

4. Attend to patients' nutritional needs by distributing meals, assisting with feeding, and ensuring hydration.


5. Provide personal care, which may include bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, and changing linens.

6. Manage waste and maintain cleanliness in patient areas.


7. Support a safe environment by reporting any equipment malfunctions and properly handling supplies.


8. Deliver general care such as repositioning patients, assisting with toileting, and providing preoperative support.

9. Collect specimens as required and perform basic tasks such as range of motion exercises and assisting with mobility aids.

10. Respond promptly to patient requests and report any significant changes in their condition to the nursing staff.

11. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.


12. Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.



Qualifications:

Minimum Education:


While no specific educational background is mandated, candidates should possess a combination of formal education and/or relevant experience that demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge for the role, typically equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.

Preference may be given to those with a high school diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience:
No prior experience required.

Licensure Requirement:
CPR certification is mandatory.
