Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to support our government customer in Hanover, MD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, security, and availability of our database systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain database policies and procedures to ensure security and integrity
  • Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes
  • Establish and maintain database user accounts
  • Perform disaster recovery, performance analysis, and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring database security and integrity
  • Evaluate requirements and recommend available DBMS products
  • Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure high system performance, availability, and compliance with business requirements
  • Provide server administration for various database products, including Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASE
  • Support data modeling activities through prototype database implementations
  • Direct the monitoring, administration, and implementation of performance on database systems, as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure, and reloading data into a database
  • Coordinate database architecture changes with database engineers
  • Direct the installation of database management systems, databases, tables, and views
  • Direct the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies, and technologies
Requirements
  • 12 years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required; 4 years of additional database administration experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
  • Active TS/SCI w/Poly security clearance is required
Desired Requirements
  • 5 years of experience installing and maintaining Oracle
  • 5 years of experience with Oracle streams and distributed databases
  • 5 years of experience installing and maintaining Oracle I Og
  • 5 years of experience writing stored procedures
  • 5 years of experience using PL/SQL
  • 5 years of experience developing database schemas
  • 5 years of maintenance experience with LINUX Server Operating System
