The Manager of Utilization Review plays a pivotal role in overseeing a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to optimizing member services, ensuring effective utilization, and managing care delivery for diverse patient populations with varying medical needs. This position is essential in facilitating access to necessary healthcare services while maintaining cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Directs and supervises a team focused on identifying and managing cases with complex health conditions. Coordinates comprehensive service delivery, including assessments of physical health factors. Collaborates with healthcare providers to set achievable short- and long-term objectives tailored to member needs and capabilities. Identifies members at risk for potential health complications. Analyzes benefit structures and conducts cost-benefit evaluations. Reviews medical data to ensure cost-effective healthcare solutions. Promotes program compliance and identifies areas for enhancing customer service and quality outcomes. Supports quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to industry standards and reporting requirements. Responsible for recruiting, training, mentoring, and assessing the performance of team members.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years in healthcare management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a current, unrestricted professional license (such as RN, PA, LSW, LCSW, LPC, LMHC) as mandated by state regulations.Job Level:
