Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Heart Hospital of Austin. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic radiological procedures in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT procedures, documenting required information and communicating with primary physicians and direct care staff.
  • Coordinate and assist in the care of patients assigned, collaborating with other imaging specialists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
  • Evaluate patient condition to ensure adequate performance of CT exams.
  • Explain procedures to patients and their families, ensuring their cooperation and comfort.
  • Provide comprehensive direct patient care, maintaining a safe and comforting environment.
  • Consult with other staff as necessary to meet patient and family needs.
  • Ensure availability and safe utilization of clinical equipment and supplies.
  • Apply knowledge of patient growth and development across the lifespan (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
  • Perform Point of Care procedures according to established policy and procedure, documenting required information and adhering to quality control standards.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree and graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certification with the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
  • Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Registered Radiologic Technologist RT (R) license.
  • Current American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT)/Registered C T Technologist, CT(R) license.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
