Job Responsibilities of the CT Imaging TechnologistThe CT Imaging Technologist is responsible for executing all diagnostic radiological procedures promptly and accurately, following physician orders. As a vital member of the care team, you will collaborate with other professionals to ensure safe and precise patient care delivery. Additionally, you should be open to cross-training in other relevant modalities. Under the guidance of the Laboratory department, you will assist in collecting patient specimens, ensuring proper labeling, and safely delivering them to the lab. Other responsibilities include:
- Conducting CT procedures efficiently, documenting necessary information, and communicating relevant details to the primary physician and direct care staff.
- Coordinating and assisting in patient care in collaboration with fellow CT technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
- Assessing patient conditions to perform CT exams effectively.
- Informing and explaining procedures to patients, outlining expectations for their cooperation.
- Providing comprehensive direct patient care while ensuring a safe and comforting environment.
- Consulting with other staff as needed to meet patient and family needs.
- Ensuring the availability and safe use of necessary clinical equipment and supplies.
- Understanding the growth and development of patients across all life stages (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
- Performing Point of Care procedures promptly, adhering to established policies and quality control standards.
Education and Experience:
- Associate Degree and graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a CT Imaging Technologist.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certification with the Texas Medical Board.
- Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Registered Radiologic Technologist RT (R) license.
- Current American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT)/Registered CT Technologist, CT(R) license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
