We are seeking a highly skilled Produce Order Coordinator to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our produce department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our produce inventory.
Key Responsibilities- Purchasing and Replenishment: Purchase and replenish produce through proper buying procedures, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to meet customer demand.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and control spoilage and shrink, achieve turn goals, and participate in inventory management to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
- Order Management: Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required, and ensure orders for product are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales potential.
- Merchandising: Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product, and maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.
- Compliance: Follow and comply with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices, and immediately report safety hazards and violations.
- Education and Experience: 12+ months retail experience, with a strong background in produce merchandising and inventory management.
- Skills and Abilities: Extensive produce product knowledge, including production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends; strong basic math skills; knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems; strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day, and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery, and may require use of ladders.
