Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine/PET Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and PET procedures. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and quality, with a focus on producing high-quality diagnostic images while adhering to radiation safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of nuclear medicine studies, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Produce quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures.
  • Provide clinical documentation per scope of practice.
  • Follow ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Prepare equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies for quality patient care.
  • Understand and adhere to regulatory and accrediting standards.
  • Coordinate patient care and perform effective assessment, actions, and documentation.
  • Maintain records of tests conducted, results, and disposition of isotopes and body products.
  • Order, prepare, calibrate, store, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for routine, on-call, and therapeutic procedures.
  • Perform quality control on various instruments.

Qualifications:

  • Nuclear Medicine experience (preferred)
  • Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine (N) certification (required)
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technician (CNMT) certification - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Inc (NMTCB) CNMT (required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (required)
