Overview

The selected candidate will function as a Senior Administrative Coordinator within the Engineering Services of the Veterans Health Administration. This role encompasses financial analysis, contract management, daily operational expenditures for materials and services, and the implementation of administrative methodologies and protocols. The incumbent will also engage in reporting oversight, workforce efficiency assessments, and documentation related to accreditation processes.

Position Responsibilities

As the Senior Administrative Coordinator, the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Facilitating communication and gathering information from various department heads regarding tasks related to the procurement of durable goods, annual asset assessments, recognition programs, modifications to standard operating protocols, and more.
  • Identifying specific actions, necessary inputs, and milestones based on established objectives.
  • Utilizing analytical and evaluative methods to identify, assess, and resolve procedural or factual challenges.
  • Executing administrative tasks, including managing the office calendar and daily operational plans.
  • Creating standard plans or schedules utilizing existing resources and references.
  • Estimating time and resources required for tasks.
  • Planning, coordinating, and conducting investigations and analyses of issues in line with established office policies and management principles.
  • Generating findings and recommendations based on work observations, production records, and standard administrative guidelines.
  • Acting as a liaison to communicate with various stakeholders within the service line and external entities.
  • Delivering presentations to management regarding proposed solutions or recommendations.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Virtual Work: This position is not eligible for virtual work.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
  • Selective Service Registration is mandatory for males born after December 31, 1959.
  • Participation in a probationary period may be required.
  • Background/security investigation may be necessary.
  • Selected candidates will need to complete an online onboarding process.
  • Involvement in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required for all personnel within the Veterans Health Administration.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Current Federal employees must have held a GS grade within the past 52 weeks to meet time-in-grade requirements.

Applicants may qualify based on their experience and/or education as described below:
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation. Specialized experience includes financial analysis, contract management, daily operational expenditures, and administrative methodologies.
  • Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education, you must have 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
  • Combination: A combination of specialized experience and education beyond two years of graduate education may also qualify you for this position.
Physical Requirements: Most duties are sedentary, with occasional walking, climbing, and reaching as necessary.

Work Environment: Work is typically performed in a well-lit and climate-controlled office setting.
