Aquatic Safety Specialist

As an Aquatic Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all patrons in the aquatic environment. Your responsibilities will include monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety regulations, and responding to emergencies effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveillance: Continuously observe pool activities to avert accidents and injuries. Be proactive in identifying potential risks.
- Emergency Response: Act swiftly in emergency situations, performing water rescues, administering first aid, and providing CPR as necessary.
- Regulation Enforcement: Uphold all pool rules and educate patrons on safe swimming practices, addressing unsafe behaviors promptly.
- First Aid Administration: Provide first aid to swimmers in distress and communicate with emergency services when required.
- Facility Upkeep: Maintain cleanliness and safety of the pool area, setting up and returning equipment as needed. Conduct routine safety equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of incidents, rescues, and treatments. Document pool attendance and chemical levels as mandated.
- Customer Engagement: Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting patrons with inquiries and fostering an inclusive environment.
- Training Participation: Engage in regular training sessions and emergency drills to remain prepared for any situation.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow lifeguards and staff to maintain an efficient team atmosphere.
- Program Instruction: Conduct group and individual swim lessons as needed and assist in the development and implementation of aquatic programs.
- Adhere to all Lands' End's safety practices, report unsafe conditions, and document incidents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Effective oral communication skills to provide guidance and assistance to pool users.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Assertive yet courteous in enforcing safety regulations.
- Creative and resourceful, capable of generating innovative ideas.
- Ability to assess participant needs through observation and interaction.
The contractor will not discharge or discriminate against employees or applicants based on inquiries regarding compensation or other employees' pay.
