Nuvance Health is expanding its Surgical Technologist team and is in search of a Full-Time Surgical Technologist.

This position entails a standard workweek of 40 hours, with shifts from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 7:30 pm, including variable shifts and assigned on-call duties.


Summary:

The primary role of the Surgical Technologist is to perform scrub duties and assist in the nursing care of surgical patients throughout the surgical process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe and efficient environment for surgical patients.
  • Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to tailor patient care.
  • Implement aseptic techniques to maintain patient privacy and dignity.
  • Prepare and understand the specific uses of all surgical equipment and supplies.
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs to facilitate efficient procedures.
  • Enhance skills in work organization and assist the surgeon in optimizing time and resources.
  • Recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.
  • Complete a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education annually and maintain certification.
  • Participate in training and inservicing for staff regarding the surgical technologist role.
  • Exhibit professionalism and efficiency in all aspects of surgical care.
  • Fulfill compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of experience is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Significant manual dexterity and coordination are essential.
  • Exposure to various occupational risks.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
  • Exposure to various environmental factors.
