Harbortown Treatment Center, a leading facility in substance abuse rehabilitation, is currently seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to support our mission. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration of medications, particularly Methadone, to clients in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and effective dispensing of Methadone to clients dealing with opioid dependency.
  • Administer Methadone doses and supervise clients during the ingestion process.
  • Monitor and assess the physical and mental well-being of clients during medication distribution.
  • Oversee urine collection processes to guarantee accurate specimen acquisition.
  • Prepare urine samples for external laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical and clinical documentation, including Methadone inventory records.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the treatment team.
  • Engage in staff training and clinical meetings as required.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as directed by the Program Director and Medical Doctors.
  • Possess a strong commitment to the field of substance abuse treatment, demonstrating teamwork, organization, and effective communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Active LPN or RN license in the State of Michigan.
  • Current knowledge of addiction issues, including HEP-C and HIV, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software is advantageous.

Preferred Experience:

  • Ability to perform various nursing tasks as necessary.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to set objectives and manage time effectively.
  • Experience in addiction treatment and needs assessment is preferred.
